The History of Stringybark
THE BEGINNING
Stringybark Winery and Restaurant, a Chittering Valley staple, was established in 1985 by a Victorian man who named the property after his hometown in Victoria, Stringybark Creek where, in the 1880’s the legend of Australian bushranger Ned Kelly became folk law following the shoot out with Sgt Kennedy and Constable Scanlon and Lonigan at Stringybark Creek.
